TCP — Traffic Control Person

TCP

As a TCP, you are the frontline of traffic safety. You'll direct vehicles and pedestrians through active work zones, communicate with crews, and ensure everyone gets home safe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct traffic through construction and work zones
  • Set up and maintain signage and traffic devices
  • Communicate with crew leads and site supervisors
  • Follow BC MoT and WorkSafe BC safety protocols

Great for those starting out or with existing TCP certification. Training provided for the right candidate.

LCT — Lane Closure Technician

LCT

As an LCT, you handle the setup and teardown of lane closures, detours, and traffic management zones. This role requires hands-on work with traffic control equipment and vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy and retrieve lane closure setups (cones, barriers, signage)
  • Operate company vehicles including trucks with attenuators
  • Read and execute Traffic Management Plans (TMPs)
  • Coordinate with municipal and provincial authorities

Best suited for candidates with some traffic control experience or a strong mechanical / hands-on background.

What We Need

Requirements

Most of our best flaggers started with zero experience. Here's what actually matters:

Must Have

  • • Valid BC driver's license (Class 5 minimum)
  • • Reliable transportation to job sites
  • • BCCSA TCP (Traffic Control Person) ticket
  • • Ability to work outdoors in all weather
  • • Good communication skills
  • • Able to stand for extended periods
  • • Legal right to work in Canada

Nice to Have

  • • Previous flagging or traffic control experience
  • • Experience in construction or trades
  • • First Aid certificate
  • • Own vehicle (truck or van)
